Peacock Lounge has been around for a while now and the popularity of their famous high tea set keeps increasing. I have been wanting to visit there since their early opening but didn't get the chance to come. Months have passed now and I realized it's never too late too try.
My best friend invited me and a few friends to celebrate his little birthday party here. We did have a very good time here. For me, its not really about the taste of the cakes, its about the conversation with friends accompanied by those little light bites and some tea.
I have to admit that this is the place for a high end spender as a cup of tea costs you around IDR 70k - 100k++. But there is a price for a nice place to hang out, isn't it?
Once you step into the room, you'll see this long table in the middle presenting all those cute little treats that you can order, from cakes, pies, pastries, chocolate, etc.
The fully booked lounge on the weekend looks like this. We were on the waiting list everytime we reserved by phone. We almost canceled it because we were not sure whether we gonna get a table.
This is the Christmas Edition High Tea Set. I'm not quite understand the difference between this limited set with the reguler sets. FYI: There are 2 reguler sets with each costs around IDR 325k++ and IDR 388k++. The Christmas high tea set costs IDR 488.000++ which consists of a 3 level cupboard filled with cake, another square plates of pastries and 2 glasses of sparkling wine.
The cupboard in this picture looks bigger than when you see it yourself :D At the first glance, I thought that the cupboard was very petite, but it was actually quite a lot. So, I recommend you to share it with 3 to 4 persons.
The sparkling wine and the tea. All of the tea in the menu are using TWG Tea. The tea itself ranges from IDR 60k to 100k++, in which you can choose the types of the tea: White Tea, Red Tea, Black Tea, etc (not quite understand the difference).
I tried the Royal Orchid tea (70k) which is flowery based tea. It was light and nice. It wasn't really strong but quite good for its kind.
My friend tried the recommended green tea: Pea Pink Flamenggo tea (70k).This is a typical authentic green tea flavor, I could taste the raw tea leaves. Very authentic!
