All of a sudden, I was thinking to post something out of food review topic. And I wanna share about how everything started. I never really remember when I started posting food photos seriously. The first time I had my semi-pro camera was in March 2011 when I was about to travel to Sydney, Australia. I had my Master Degree Graduation there on April 2011. I was mind-poisoned (read: Diracunin) by my work-mate at that time (when I still worked there). I successfully bought Canon 60D + 18-55mm F3.5 - 5.0 + 50mm F1.8 for a total of around IDR 9.800.000s. I was so lame at camera specifications and I didn't even understand what is Apperture, Exposure, etc2. All I knew was ISO to brighten the picture :p

SHIRAKU SOBA - Elang Laut PIK

[SHORT REVIEW] Visited Elang Laut Pantai Indah Kapuk like twice a month just because a number of new restaurants opened up in this location. It wasn't like a big surprise as the main Pantai Indah Kapuk itself has been so overloaded by tons of restaurants. And then came this new comer 'SHIRAKU SOBA' just next to Farmers Coffee Shop or the same location as Meater Steak.

When I heard Soba, my mind was directly remembering Yamatoten Abura Soba in PIK and Grand Indonesia. For certain reasons I didn't know if I was so hungry or it was the long waiting time, but Abura Soba was one of the best dry Soba I've ever tasted. And I tried it only once in Grand Indonesia.

NASI TUMPENG MINI

[PRODUCT REVIEW] Baru pertama kali ini lihat ada nasi tumpeng berukuran mini seperti ini. Ukurannya personal size alias untuk 1 orang walaupun sebenarnya lumayan banyak juga nasi kuningnya :) Nasinya wangi terasa gurih dan terdapat banyak lauk di sisi sampingnya seperti Gepuk Sapi, Abon, Keripik Kentang Pedas, Perkedel, Tempe Kacang Goreng, Ayam Goreng Fillet dan Sambal Coleknya. Tapi ada kelebihan lainnya selain rasanya yang enak.

DE PLOEIT CAFE - Pluit

Finally, a coffee shop review in 2016! Its really been a while since my last coffee shop visit. I used to try any new coffee shops around Jakarta, especially for the Cappuccino or Piccolo. I have been a fan of coffee with milk since the past 2 years when I started to learn sipping coffee. For some reason, I was curious how people love this bitter and sour beverage. But learning after learning makes me understand more about the type of coffee and the way of serving coffee.

PADMA RESORT UBUD - Desa Puhu, Payangan, Bali

The last time I traveled to Bali was on October 10th 2015 to attend my friend's wedding at The Mulia Resort, Nusa Dua. I came here not only for this, but actually also for my Honeymoon. I'm not really into spending a lot of bucks for a night of luxurious stay. For me, clean and comfortable are two main factors of choosing the right stay. And so far my best affordable Hotel in Bali is Best Western Premier Sunset Road. I mean for around IDR 550k - 650k, I get the best new clean room plus a complete buffet breakfast. The location is on the main street of Sunset Road and is very close to the airport. Its the last thing in my mind when deciding on where to stay in Bali.

ARTS CAFE - Raffles Hotel Jakarta

ARTS CAFE is probably one of the latest lines of Buffet restaurant in a 5 star Hotel in Jakarta. I had been so drooling to try their buffet either lunch or dinner from December 2015. But I finally managed to try it on 2 January 2016 for my New Year's dinner with friends. They were always fully booked during the weekend and so it is recommended to reserve your table a few days earlier. FYI, we reserved ours on 28 December 2015 for 2 January 2016 but our name was not listed when we arrived.

DJATI BISTRO & DRINKERY - 1st Dinner in 2016!

First of all, let me say Happy New Year 2016! Its really been a great year in 2015, especially on July when I started this foodblog. I learned a lot about the food industry! Many thanks for those who have invited me for food testing, food review, and any kind of endorsement. I really appreciate it! But I will post another new blog about my experience with all those endorsements soon :)

Meanwhile, this is my very first post in 2016. Normally, on the first day we all gather with our family and have a quality time or have a lunch / dinner. I did it with my wife's family by having lunch at Bandar Jakarta, Bay Walk Pluit. It was a pretty decent lunch there with the great sea view.
