I had been eyeing for this place for a few weeks and I finally made it there last Saturday (August 13) with my friend. It was a sunny afternoon when we arrived there and the room situation was quite packed with customers. Its really clean and minimalistic, the ambience that I love to see in a cafe. But sitting right next to that big glass was a bit warm as the heat of the sun came thru. But well, its my new favorite place to hang out!
FRONT BAR
COFFEE MACHINE
Luckily, they have many seats in a not so big room. So, it didn't take a lot of time to wait before we got our seats. Please note that if you come before 5 PM, you can only order the breakfast or lunch menus, while if you come after 5 PM, you can order their dinner menus. Our food here in this review are the lunch menus.
Hot cappucino (38k) was fine, thicker and creamier than normal coffee. It was not really sour or bitter actually.
PAN SEARED DORY FISH - IDR 85.000
My wife is a fan of fish menus, so she decided to try the Dory dish. Presentation wise, it was beautiful and well plated. But size wise, it was so petite and cute :p I can call it an appetizer. The fried fish was okay for me, not bad, but not surprising. It comes with boiled potato with cream sauce.
CREAMY MUSHROOM DIJON - IDR 95.000
My first time heard the name Dijon was last July 2016 when I traveled to Australia with Air Asia. They have a chicken Breast with Dijon Sauce on the menus and I ordered that for my breakfast on my flight. I wasn't particularly crazy about the sauce as it was some kind of mushroom sauce, nothing really special about that. And I did find the sauce in the supermarket in Sydney.
For this one, considering its a typical chicken breast with mushroom sauce, I would probably give it a 7/10 for the overall flavor. Its beautiful though :) Too bad that we couldn't try the Egg Benedict menu because it wasn't ready at that time.
OPEN BRIOCHE PORK BELLY - IDR 129.000
This is the one that I tried and it was SO GOOD! I am not a fan of Pork Belly, but looking at the thick juicy pork belly makes me drollll. They combine fried pork belly with sambal matah (chopped chili and shallot) and some kind of tar tar sauce with a little hint of sour, probably from lime or lemon. The bread was soft and pan-fried with butter, a perfect combination with the pork belly. I give it a 9/10! A bigger portion would make it 10/10.
