Valentine's Day is approaching real fast, it really feels like just yesterday. And now its coming back again! We both never really had a special Valentine's day dinner actually. But its pretty interesting that many restaurants have been preparing a special dinner package for two. Here in this post, we are gonna list down a few recommended restaurants to celebrate Valentine's day, based on the overall criterias: great food, nice ambience, and best services. Some are considered 5 star restaurants and some are casual dining restaurants. Remember, what we posted here is based on our experience on our last visit. We are not; by any means; getting paid to write any of the lists below. So, here we go!

Our very first and BEST overall experience for dining is at OKU Japanese Restaurant. It was absolutely an unforgetable moment. The Japanese style ambience with its Zen-like atmosphere gives you the best peaceful dining experience. Their Truffle Gyu Don (above) is A MUST TRY whenever you visit here. Its just the perfect juiciness, tenderness combined with the best truffle oil! Not mentioning the sashimi set like below, very fresh and eye-catching. But well, there's a price to pay for the 'best' one.
For this Valentine's Day Dinner, they have a special 7 course Japanese delicacy for IDR 2.500.000++/ couple. Unfortunately, they are fully booked for Valentine's day by the time we wrote this post (9th February 2017).

Our second recommendation for Valentine's day dinner is at SKYE! This place has been one of the most recommended ones for many years since their opening. Its their 56th floor above the ground that makes it very unforgetable. Their dishes were unbeliavably beautiful and delicious. Their Tuna Pizza with truffle is a KILLER!
For Valentine's dinner package, they have a 4 course meal for IDR 850.000++/person and free flow (red or white) wine for IDR 350.000++/person.
Appetizer: Tempura Oyster with carrot and ginger puree, potato airbags, pine nuts, salmon caviar.Pasta: Crab ravioli with polenta and parmesan espuma, lobster emulsion, caviar and chives.Main: A choice of
- French wile seabream with beetroot risotto, asparagus gel, asparagus salad, radish, and red wine caramel
- Wagyu beef sirloin with foie gras, potato galette, gorgonzola sauce and red wine jus

Cassis Kitchen has transformed itself from the name 'Cassis' as a fine dining restaurant to 'Cassis Kitchen' as a casual semi fine dining restaurant. People always refer Cassis as an expensive place to spend for food. While, we can not deny for that despite they have remade the menus and lowered the price range. But, it is undeniably one of the best popular places in Jakarta to have a romantic dinner for two. If you are about to book your dinner for Valentine's day, I really suggest you to try their Caramelized Duck or Steak Frites. Its one of the best duck dishes (western style) we've ever tried!

We visited here mid last year 2016 during Ramadhan and we instantly fell in love with the ambience. Despite being a fine dining Indonesian restaurant, they surprised us with their fine fancy Indonesian food in beautiful modern plating and classic luxurious dishwares. I personally really love their food, its just traditional food on another higher level. Go for their beautiful gado gado and Wagyu Beef Rendang. These two at least stick in my head whenever I think about 1945 restaurant.

Our first visit here is when we had our BEST Italian Sunday Brunch Buffet ever! Seriously, its just the most authentic Italian cusines in a nice Sunday Brunch. Well, it is located just next to Salt Grill at Altitute, which is also one of our top recommended restaurants! For Valentine's day dinner, they have a special package of IDR 1.500.000 nett/ person, including appetizer, main course, dessert and wine.

Salt Grill by Luke Mangan has been quite a while in the fine dining industry. We both happened to visit here earlier this February 2017 during their newly launched Australian Sunday Brunch event with food bloggers. The Sunday Brunch here costs you IDR 350.000++/ person including free flow iced tea. We were quite satisfied with the food selections!
This year, they have a special valentine's day dinner package for IDR 1.500.000 nett/ person, including appetizer, main course, dessert and wine. Its non like other, because they serve the appetizers inside a beautiful surprise box for the couple (they call it for HIM and HER). So, you'll be surprised on what to be served on your table. It certainly costs you some bucks, but dining on the 46th floor is an unforgetable experience.

Epigastro might sound like a non-familiar option for couple's special dinner. But trust me, our first visit to this cafe was quite memorable. Its not just about an exclusive steak paired with the perfect wine, but Epigastro offers such a nice comfy place with the most delicious comfort food. We are talking about brunch, healthy food, coffee and all the food & drinks that we really enjoy during our free time. Anyway, we had a peak to their Instagram account and they are currently offering a special romantic dinner for only IDR 450.000++/couple. That's quite affordable actually, so book your table now!

Willie Brothers is a casual European style steak house yet very affordable at its class. No doubt that for a nice looking ambience inside, they offer such beautiful steaks for less than IDR 200.000 or even IDR 100.000. Its name boomed when they released the first ever Raclette steak in town or even in Indonesia! Since then, many other restaurants follow this step. But we still believe that despite the 'affordable steak house' tagline, they are still gonna offer you a great Valentine's dinner moment.

Holyduck might not be in one of your top priorities to have special Valentine's day dinner. But trust me, despite the non mainstream Balinese style ambience, their crispy duck and many other duck or chicken dishes have been our most favorite dishes in 2016! Its not about the fancy while, clean, european style dinner, but the food here are beyond amazing. Its very affordable, yet delivering tummy satisfying experience. I bet this is very suitable for you who don't care about beautiful wine glasses or blinking spoon and fork.

PGP is a casual cafe located at Rempoa, Tangerang (very close to Pondok Indah). We both debated over this cafe whether or not it's eligible for our Valentine's day dinner. One thing that captures my attention is their beautiful interior. It really reminds me of a modern western cafe that is happening in Jakarta and Bandung. Although its not located at Jakarta, it is very reachable from South Jakarta. And the price is very affordable actually! So, if you are very budget for your special dinner, then this is my personal recommendation.
We actually still have a lot of lists to mention out of these 11 top recommendation above. But for one and another reason, we didn't put them on our top lists. Some are: Akira Back, Attarine, and Social House. Thank you for reading!

You must be kidding trying to recommend Salt Grill restaurant. This is one of the most over rated restaurant in Jakarta with bad quality food and very poor service I had the moisfortunate of trying.
