Guys, I won't tell you again about what, where, which and 5W about Akira Back. They have been in the food industry for years now and the have a high reputation as one of the finest Japanese restaurants in Jakarta. There's definitely a price to pay for quality food, and they are currently offering a great business lunch set every weekdays lunch time starting from only IDR 180.000++/pax. And I convince you that this is not you ordinary lunch set, because it is Akira Back. Well, the pictures tell everything, So let's have a look!
This is their actual Business Lunch menu. Sorry for the blurry quality. The starting price is IDR 180.000++/pax, which already includes starter, main course and dessert. But please be informed that for special menus like Gyu Don or Akira's Chirasi, they charge some more as these menus are actually way more expensive than the rests on the menu.
If you are interested to try our recommendation (not in the Business Lunch menus), you might want to try their BEST Mushroom Truffle Pizza ever! Seriously, the amount of truffle they put was much much more than any other truffle dishes we've tried. Its super thin crust with that thinly sliced mushroom. SUPER GOOD! I bet you can finish this by yourself. Its IDR 180.000++.
STARTERS: Lettuce Wrap - sweet marinated beef with fresh lettuce and crispy topping. Wrap it and enjoy it in one big mouth.
STARTERS: White Fish Carpaccio - thin sliced fish in salty soy sauce, thai basil and garlic chips.
STARTERS: Kimche-se Sliders
STARTERS: Maguro 2 Ways - a pair of fresh tuna and salmon sushi. Super love the sushi one!
Pan Seared Flounder - its like a fried battered dory fish with mushroom and their
Baramundi & Clams - fried baramundi and clams cooked with Ponzu sauce and their house made secret foam. A combination of fresh fish, sweet sauce and creamy foam.
Truffle Gyu Don with Onsen Tamago, Foie Gras, Fish Roe (additional 180k) - Its considered one of the most popular Truffle Gyu Don in town. Seriously, look at the premium ingredients, from Wagyu Beef, Caviar, Onsen Tamago, to Foie Gras. I don't normally eat foie gras, and in fact always avoid it. But that day I thought it was like beef fat, so I just tried a mouth full of Wagyu beef, rice, egg, and 'that beef fat". It was really really good especially that 'beef fat' until I asked Ci Astrid (Akira's PR), what is that? I was quite suprised when she answered its Foie Gras. OMG, it was unbelievably delicious, salty, creamy and didn't taste like cheap foie gras at all.
Akira's Chirashi - A Signature Japanese Fish Set, mostly raw from tuna, gindara, salmon, shrimp and fish roe. I can't really tell you if its my favorite as I don't eat raw fish. But, that looks really beautiful. For this menu, they charge additional IDR 80.000 from the basic Business Lunch price.
USDA Prime Short Rib - Super tender, juicy and moist sliced beef, medium cooked, with gravy sauce and grilled corn. I liked the texture, its just smooth in my mouth and I enjoyed every single chewing moment :p So Good!
Yuzu Granita (left) & Ginger Creme Brulee - My all time favorite is the left one, its as simple as sour yet refreshing shaved ice with sweet creamy foam on top.
