We were glad to be one of the very first bloggers to try the first ever Sunday Brunch by Nusantara / NSNTR restaurant at Mercure PIK. On 1 April 2018, they launched this EPIK Sunday Brunch Buffet for the first time since they opened the hotel for public two months ago. Its because of the high demand of Sunday Lunch buffet around the area. Mercure PIK itself is the only international hotel chain (4 stars) around PIK. We happened to visit the restaurant on the day we checked out from our one night stay at the hotel. We'll review more about our staycation experience at their Suite room later on. Meanwhile, check out our review about their Sunday Brunch in this blog!
The Nusantara Restaurant is located on the 8th floor of the hotel, exactly at the same floor with their pool and gym. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, we can assume it occupies half the space of the 8th floor.
So, here's what you guys wanna know: the price is IDR 228.000++/Pax. Quite affordable compared to many popular Sunday Brunch buffet in the city, although Mercure Hotel itself is classified as a 4 star hotel.
This below is the buffet section: Asian dishes, noodle & pasta station, and satay station. On the left side (out of the frame) is Beef Brisket, Salmon En Croute, Mini Burgers and Pizza.
The beef brisket was super tender with selections of sauces and side dishes.
Salmon En Croute with Side Dishes.
Mini burgers and hot dogs any one?
Main center buffet section: salad, seafood (sashimi), and desserts.
Fruits and Beverage Bar
This first edition of the Sunday Brunch was fully booked because they gave 20% off for early bird booking. Unfortunately, this promo is not available for the next Sunday Brunch.
The beautiful view from our seats. Its currently the highest restaurant around PIK area. You can even see the city and the skyscrapers from this point.
As 1 April 2018 is an Easter holiday, the foods were specially created to celebrate the Easter, mostly the desserts on the main buffet table.
Fancy Tahu Gejrot with edible flowers
What about some mixed fruits salad?
This is the most eye-catching one: gado gado with three colored quail eggs! Well unfortunately you won't probably see this on your next Sunday Brunch as it was created for Easter only.
Some legit cakes were also available
Here's our thoughts, the main courses might not as many as you expected in a 5 star hotel. As this is a 4 star hotel and for the price tag of IDR 228.000++, this is actually worth the money. If you're not into big tummy eaters like us, this is a great choice. The view was amazing, the foods were fine, and the Head Chef is a former Sous Chef from Pullman Central Park Hotel. Well, both are from the same Accor group actually.
So, that's all our first impression of EPIK Sunday Brunch by Mercure Hotel PIK. Thank you guys for reading. If you love this review, help us share it to your circle! Can't wait to share our staycation review on the blog.
