Welcome to Alaya Resort Ubud! A tropical resort located at the very heart of Ubud next to many popular cafes and restaurants, such as Bebek Tepi Sawah and Pison Coffee. It is also walking distance to the popular monkey forest and neighboring to Plataran Ubud. We love how green the resort is because they preserve a huge space for paddy field right next to the resort. Without further a due, let's take a look at the room and the facilities.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and cold hand towel, While our room was prepared (as they were quite full that time), we were offered to have some afternoon tea at their beautiful eco restaurant.
Our afternoon tea with traditional cakes and a choice of coffee.
The front view from our (afternoon tea) seats.
This is the beautiful paddy field and on the back you can see their traditional style restaurant where you'll have your breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Anyway, that's Pison Coffee located next to the hotel (interconnected with the hotel via the paddy field's path way).
Welcome to our room! A spacious one king bed room with access to the balcony. It's an open space balcony with direct access to anywhere: on the left to the lobby or on the right to the restaurant and the pool area. The room ambiance felt warm (with the yellowish light) and homy with an opened style bathroom.
The room is super spacious, you can tell from the picture below. There are TV, mini bar, welcome fruits, tea and instant coffee.
The balcony area was pretty cozy, though we wouldn't spend our relaxing moment here as it was an open space terrace where passerby could see us directly from outside.
This is our backyard
Welcome to the pool area with their signature infinity pool. It was pretty serene and quite, we didn't see many guests (only around 6 including 3 of us). The pool itself is around 1.3 - 1.4 Meter dept. But they also have a second pool nearby presumably kids friendly.
On the back (in front of the pool) was another 4 level building which we assume to be a higher (luxury) type of room.
The breakfast wasn't quite our favorite to be frankly speaking. It was really lacking the variety of food that we normally experienced in many other 4 or 5 star hotels. The food here was very basic (plain fried rice, plain salad, baked tomato, sausage, etc), though it was a buffet breakfast. We would rather have a proper quality ala carte breakfast (like many other resorts in Ubud) than a buffet one but was lacking the protein dishes. And since our baby couldn't eat any of the buffet food, we eventually requested a bowl of porridge which came plain and with pepper :(
Anyway, this is the all day dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is located before the swimming pool and has a paddy field view. In the evening, we saw there was a Balinese traditional dance performance in the restaurant and most of the dinners were foreign customers. We guess the locals/Indonesians would rather have some dinner elsewhere around the hotel because there were many cafes and restaurants in walking distance.
That's the end of our staycation experience at Alaya Ubud Resort. Thank you very much for reading. If you love this review, please share it on your social medias. Don't forget to follow our blog and subscribe to our Youtube Channel.
